It seems like each year, with every auction, the vehicles become more spectacular than the ones before. Every time we feel like it can%u2019t get any better - we are at the pinnacle, this is it %u2013 the manufacturers come up with something even more spectacular. The latest in the %u201ctop this%u201d category is Cadillac%u2019s 2025 Escalade IQ. It%u2019s the very first all-electric full-size SUV from Cadillac, and it delivers some amazing numbers thanks to its Ultium battery system and over 200 kWh dual-motor all-wheel drive. The Velocity Max setting delivers 750 horsepower and 785 ft/lbs of torque and Cadillac estimates a 0-to-60 mph time of less than 5 seconds and 460 miles of range. The first retail production 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, VIN 001, will cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block at the 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction to benefit the Detroit Children%u2019s Fund. The IQ will make an excellent bookend to the VIN 001 Escalade V we sold for charity at the 2022 Las Vegas Auction, with its supercharged, 682-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. We also sold the first retail production GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 SUV, with 830 horsepower, at the 2023 Scottsdale event. Recalling the no-frills Blazers and Broncos of our youth, never in our wildest dreams did we think we%u2019d ever see SUVs from top luxury brands featuring this incredible, Corvette-like performance.For a car guy, these are truly amazing times. It doesn%u2019t seem that long ago when the Bugatti Veyron became the ultimate supercar with what was then an unbelievable 1,000 horsepower. Now we%u2019ve got a Corvette ZR1 coming with north of 1,000 horsepower. It%u2019s mind-boggling.
