                                     33The demands of the U.S. market significantly influenced the final design of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona, earning it the nickname \the design featuring a plexiglass strip was modified, and the Daytona received the now-iconic pop-up headlights. This change was prompted by new U.S. legislation that prohibited headlights behind covers. After exploring various alternatives, including fixed open headlights, Ferrari ultimately chose pop-up headlights to maintain the Daytona's sleek design. Like its predecessor, the 275 GTB/4, the Ferrari Daytona was a Pininfarina design. The styling was the work of Leonardo Fioravanti, who had already established a reputation for designing many iconic Ferrari models.At the 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction this 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona will sell with No Reserve. Offered from The Alan Smith Collection, this stunning example has been repainted in its original Fly Yellow, a vibrant hue that captures the car's dynamic spirit. Recent polishing and detailing have enhanced its finish, ensuring it stands out on any road or in any showroom. The exterior is complemented by a sleek black interior featuring leather seats and a dashboard and instrument cluster that evokes the design ethos of the 1960s.
