We’re still on cloud nine after what turned out to be a historic Scottsdale Auction, which set a record-breaking $207.6 million in sales, the most in our company’s history for a single event. We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support of our consignors, bidders and sponsors who helped make this happen. The entire team at Barrett-Jackson is eager to continue that momentum as we head to our Palm Beach Auction.For years, we’ve kicked off Barrett-Jackson events with a great gathering the night before we get down to the business of showcasing an always-incredible selection of collector cars on the auction block. In Palm Beach, this celebration is known as the Opening Night Party. It’s a fun, relaxing event that gives us all an opportunity to enjoy the camaraderie we share as collector car enthusiasts.The party provides the perfect occasion to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, swap stories and feel the excitement begin to build for the auction days that lie ahead. The atmosphere perfectly blends upscale entertainment with casual Florida flair, whether guests want to cut loose on the dance floor to some electrifying live music or just mingle and sample the enticing selection of cocktails and gourmet bites from renowned local restaurants.The Opening Night Party always draws an impressive assortment of car collectors, car builders, industry leaders, athletes, celebrities, musicians, socialites, politicians – a diverse group united by a shared love of cars. One of the things I enjoy most about the Opening Night Party in Florida is that you never know what surprises might be in store – including celebrity appearances and occasionally a surprise performance!At the 2014 Palm Beach opening night celebration, actor and rapper Robert Van Winkle, also known as Vanilla Ice, jump-started the auction weekend with a special appearance. Others prefer to just enjoy the entertainment. In 2016, for example, Grammy Award-winning musician Zac Brown and legendary actor William Shatner enjoyed mingling with guests at the Palm Beach Opening Night Party.This year, several sure-to-be stars from the auction block will also be in the spotlight at the party. Among them is a 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The stunning supercar features special graphics and is number 27 of just 30 produced. Also turning heads at the celebration will be a 2022 Ferrari SF90 Spider – a one-of-one Tailor Made example modeled after the 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC, the winningest car in Ferrari race history. This car’s power comes from a twin-turbo 3.9-liter 986-horsepower V8 engine e4WD PHEV, backed by an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 2024 Palm Beach Opening Night Party is gearing up to be yet another memorable affair, maintaining Barrett-Jackson’s tradition of providing an upscale evening of entertainment and enjoyment for all.
